Summary:Under direct supervision, you will play a crucial role in
assisting students with registration, admission, and payments. Your
responsibilities will include addressing student inquiries,
processing applications and fees, evaluating documents, and
providing essential clerical support.Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Outreach: Assist with workshops and create
engaging newsletters and flyers.
- Student Guidance: Direct students to the appropriate
departments for admissions, course registration, and PERT
testing.
- Application Support: Help students with applications, verify
Florida residency, and evaluate high school transcripts.
- Payment Processing: Handle payments for college classes, tests,
and other services, ensuring daily balances and secure
transactions.
- Course Scheduling: Manage scheduling for vocational,
supplemental, and non-credit courses, and process Dual Enrollment
paperwork.
- Liaison Services: Act as a bridge for students seeking
Advising, Financial Aid, and Career Transfer Services.
- Data Management: Enter and maintain student registration
information, both electronically and in hard copy.
- Administrative Support: Assist counselors and advisors with
clerical tasks, coordinate office workflows, and manage room
usage.
- Communication: Answer and direct calls on a multi-line
telephone system.
- Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned to support

- Associate's degree from an accredited institution;
- Proven clerical work experience;
- Documented work experience in the area of customer
service;
- Knowledge of proper telephone etiquette;
- Ability to work with a diverse student population;
- Proven experience with Microsoft Office and Windows
applications;
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written;
- Ability to work independently as well as with others and be
self-motivated;
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks at once;
- Ability to maintain strict accuracy and be detail
oriented.
- As this position requires direct contact with college
administrators, faculty, staff, general public and students on a
regular basis, the ability to deal with all types of individuals
professionally via telephone and in-person is extremely
important;
- Bilingual preferred.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:The requirements for this position include, but
are not limited to:
- Assisting students with registration, admission, and payment
processes;
- Answering questions accurately and patiently about courses,
degree programs, and admissions in person, throughe-mail, and
during telephone conversations;
- Demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively and
professionally with a diverse student population;
- Maintaining knowledge and staying abreast of any changes
related to the services provided by the educational services
division to facilitate a point of entry to the student;
- Reviewing and interpreting program and student information for
data input into a computerized system;
- Consistently demonstrating sound professional judgment relative
to individual students;
- Understanding FERPA and the importance of student
confidentiality.SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The specific
duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not
limited to:
- Providing up-to-date and accurate admissions, residency,
course, and program information;
- Processing applications and registrations for students
enrolling in vocational, supplemental, and non-credit courses;
- Serving as a liaison for students coming in to talk with
advisors, Financial Aid and Career Transfer Services;
- Assisting students in making appointments for various
tests;
- Updating student information in the computer and student
files;
- Processing registration and assisting counselors and advisors
with various clerical tasks;
- Filing documents and completing other clerical tasks;
- Coordinating work flow to other offices;
- Assisting with campus and division projects in the recruitment,
retention and success of students;
- Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
- Normal working hours for this position are Monday through
Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility to cover other shifts as
needed;
- Flexible hours may be required during peak registration
periods.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires an ability to
sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items
occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires
manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as,
copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as
necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety
standards while employed by the
